I must admit that I have not been very good about running and blogging lately and I apologize. 2 weeks ago I did not run at all for about 8 days. I was busy with stuff in the evenings and did not make running a priority. I wanted to get up and run in the mornings, but that did not happen. This past week I decided to make running a priority and hit the road 6 days, running a total of 24 miles in those 6 days. I must say that about half of those runs were no fun! I had to get my body back in the swing of running. I had forgotten how quickly you loose what you don’t use! This week I will continue to work back to a long run of 8-10 miles and run a total of 25 miles in the week.

Last night I found out about the Lunar Lope at Texas Tech at about 9pm. Stuart and I were on our way home from Post where we were visiting some of our best friends. We arrived home at 9:30 and I rushed to change clothes and ran out the door to try and make the 10pm start to a 3 mile run. The Tech Rec Center does this every year when there is a full moon. I made it the registration table at about 9:50pm and was ready to go. Jogged for a few minutes, did a few stretches and was off to run 3 miles. This was not a serious race but more of a fun run, I raced it though. It was fun because I was passing people the whole time! I finished the 3 miles in 27 minutes and 14 seconds. My goal was to keep about a 9 minute pace and I did. It was a beautiful night with a bright full moon, a great run!
Thank you to my mother-in-law, Cindy, for letting me know about the race!! Cindy and her Mom did the 1 mile walk! They were troopers staying out so late!! Way to go!
