Here we go!

The Houston Marathon is in 16 weeks!! I am starting my training plan this week. I am so excited. I have not officially made my schedule yet but that is on my to do list this week. Since my dad is training me, he will be helping me write that plan. I will try to post it when it is finished.

I have to get serious now. I am going to really focus on my diet and watch what I eat better. I want to tone up and she a few more pounds before the race. I want to create better eating habits before Thanksgiving and Christmas get here and all the goodies start showing up at work and all the family gatherings and parties. I am writing this so I have to stick to it! 🙂

About 2 weeks ago I bought a new pair of shoes! I had been getting really bad blisters on my toes and could not imagine how bad my feet would hurt after 26.2 miles so I decided to get another pair of Saucony. I had a pair over a year ago and loved them. They have a bigger toe box and are a roomier fit, which is just what I needed. So here they are, my new shoes which are absolutely amazing!!

Shallowater Stampede

Saturday was the Shallowater Stampede Race for the West Texas Running Club. I have been training hard getting ready for this 10K. It was a cool, overcast morning but great running weather. I really wanted to PR this race and I was hoping to run a 9 min per mile pace. I acheived both those goals and finished in 56 min flat! That is a 9 min pace and 4 min off my previous 10K pace! I finished 2nd in my age group and it is always nice to walk away with a medal! 🙂 It was a great race and I was so excited to meet both my goals. Here is a picture of me and Ledah, my good friend and running partner after we got our medals. I have more pictures that my husband took coming soon!
